DIANE LANGBERG, PH.D.
Dr. Diane Langberg is globally recognized for her 50 years of clinical work with trauma victims. She has trained caregivers on six continents in responding to trauma and to the abuse of power. She also directs her own counseling practice in Jenkintown, PA, Diane Langberg, Ph.D. & Associates, which includes sixteen therapists with multiple specialties. Dr. Langberg’s newest book is Redeeming Power: Understanding Authority and Abuse in the Church. Other books include Counseling Survivors of Sexual Abuse, On the Threshold of Hope (with accompanying workbook), In Our Lives First: Meditations for Counselors and Suffering the Heart of God: How Trauma Destroys and Christ Restores.
Dr. Langberg is co-leader of the Global Trauma Recovery Institute housed at Biblical Theological Seminary. She is on the board of G.R.A.C.E. (Godly Response to Abuse in a Christian Environment). She serves as Co-Chair for American Bible Society’s Trauma Advisory Council.
Dr. Langberg is the recipient of the Distinguished Alumna Achievements from Taylor University., the American Association of Christian Counselors Caregiver Award, The Distinguished President’s award, and the Philadelphia Council of Clergy’s Christian Service Award.
She is married and has two sons and four grandchildren.
Psychologists
BEVERLY INGELSE, PSY.D.
Dr. Beverly Ingelse is a psychologist, working primarily with children, adolescents and adults. Her special interests include trauma and abuse, anxiety, depression, school difficulties, separation anxiety, parent-child
relationships, adoption and parenting. Concerned with the vulnerable of
this world, she has traveled twice to India where she worked with orphans and trained staff from the tsunami disaster in 2005, and to Rwanda where she assisted in training of caretakers. She also speaks on a variety of topics, including anxiety, depression, parenting, and responding to sexual abuse of children.
MICHAEL R. MCFEE, PSY.D. Dr. McFee is a licensed psychologist with over 20 years of clinical experience. He has taught extensively at the university level in counseling and psychology, and has been training therapists for over 15 years. He treats adolescents and adults, utilizing a custom-tailored approach that includes process-oriented experiential psychotherapy, psychodynamic, cognitive-behavioral, and collaborative problem-solving therapies. Areas of expertise include Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, Major Depression, Anxiety Disorders, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, Sex Addiction, and Food Addiction. Dr. McFee has advanced training in marital therapy using Emotion Focused Couples Therapy.
PHILIP MONROE, PSY.D.
Dr. Philip Monroe is a graduate of both Westminster Seminary and Wheaton College Graduate School. He is Director of Trauma Healing Institute at American Bible Society. In addition, he is the Taylor Visiting Professor of Counseling & Psychology at Missio Seminary. Dr. Monroe, a licensed psychologist, joined Diane Langberg, Ph.D. & Associates in 2000. In 2013, Dr. Monroe and Dr. Langberg launched the Global Trauma Recovery Institute. His areas of specialty include sexual addictions, anxiety, marital distress, and trauma recovery. BARBARA SHAFFER, PH.D.
A licensed psychologist, Dr. Shaffer has been practicing in the field since 1980 and has worked with Diane Langberg and Associates since 1992. In addition to the doctorate from Temple University, her training includes a master’s degree in Biblical Studies from Covenant Theological Seminary and a year-long pre-doctoral internship at the Coatesville (PA) VA Medical Center, where she worked with military veterans and their wives.
Among her areas of special clinical interest are childhood sexual abuse in women, domestic abuse, clergy issues, relationships, and marital counseling. She also offers case consultation to licensed therapists.
Therapists
ZACHARY ADAMS, LPC, NCC
Zac is a nationally certified, licensed professional counselor who began his career at Tompkins Courtland Community College (TC3) with an AA in Social Sciences, continuing to Gordon College with a BA in Psychology, and most recently completed a MA from Missio Seminary (BTS Graduate School of Counseling). He brings experience in bi-vocational ministry and 5 years in the field of mental health. Areas of special interest include depression, anxiety, attention issues, family discord, relational complications, church discipline & mediation, technology issues, and spiritual crisis.
His work in hospice bereavement programs has developed a passion for end of life issues, caregiver burnout, boundary issues, compassion fatigue, grief & loss, and post-traumatic stress. Zac is an active member of the ACA (American Counseling Association) and the AACC (American Association of Christian Counselors) and is committed to being a lifelong learner. He believes an effective counseling relationship must include safety and a willingness to listen, in addition to evidence-based interventions and techniques informed by an individual’s journey of faith.
SCOTT ELDREDGE, ACSW, LSW, MPHA
Scott is a licensed therapist with over 20 years’ experience. He has worked in the fields of Foster Care and Adoption in the Philadelphia area, developing innovative programs for children with specialized behavioral health and medical needs.
Scott works with children, adolescents, families and couples. His specialties include abuse, adoption, sexual identity, anger management, communication difficulties, transition and life changes, marital conflicts, and children, teen and family issues. He has received his Certification in Couples Therapy Level 1 from The Gottman Institute.
Scott serves in a leadership capacity in his church, specifically in the areas of child safety and the needs of trauma and sexual abuse survivors. Scott is married with 3 adult daughters and 3 grandsons.
CAROL KING, M.Ed., LPC
Ms. King is a licensed professional counselor with a master’s degree in counseling. She has over 25 years of clinical experience, providing individual, group, and marital counseling. Ms. King’s present areas of focus include eating disorders, sexual abuse and trauma, depression, anxiety, and marital issues. She also offers supervision to those seeking LPC status.
Prior to joining Diane Langberg, Ph.D. & Associates in 1999, she provided counseling and crisis intervention in both outpatient and inpatient settings. Since 2010, Ms. King has traveled to Kigali, Rwanda several times, supporting the care and training of counselors and caregivers. Her work in training
counselors has included involvement with the Global Trauma Recovery
Institute at Biblical Theological Seminary. Additionally, she has volunteered her time to assist the American Bible Society in providing equipping sessions to train caregivers in the society’s Healing the Wounds of Trauma curriculum. Aside from traveling to Rwanda, she has traveled to Jordan, Nepal and Romania to train caregivers. This work has increased her understanding and interest in providing care in cross-cultural settings. She is married and has three daughters.
KIMBERLY MCSHANE, LPC

It is my desire to encourage you, to support you, to walk with you in your struggle. To help make confusing things clear, the heavy burden a little lighter, to be with you in the darkness and to help you move into the light. Life is hard and we are not meant to go through the journey alone.
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) offering over 20 years of clinical experience. Earning my Master’s Degree in Counseling Psychology from Immaculata University and over 15 years with Diane Langberg, Ph.D. & Associates allows me to offer a clinically and spiritually competent therapeutic approach to help bring healing to mind and spirit. Drawing from varying theoretical perspectives I help individuals better understand themselves and others, and use clinically-proven strategies to overcome obstacles to emotional health and well-being.
Experience includes work with adolescents, adults, and couples. Areas of interest include depression, anxiety, physical and sexual abuse, PTSD, co-dependency, and marital difficulty. Additionally, I offer supervision to those seeking LPC status.
ROWAN MOORE, LCSW
Ms. Rowan Moore received a Master’s Degree in Clinical Social Work at New York University. She has been certified in Critical Incident Stress Management to work with individuals and groups. Ms. Moore has over 22 years of clinical experience, working in various hospitals, clinics, and outpatient settings.
Rowan is a Certified Sand Tray Therapist and has completed her training in Emotionally Focused Therapy with couples and individuals. Special interests include PTSD, marital problems, custody, adjustment disorders, parent-child conflicts, relationship problems, spiritual guidance, and cross-cultural issues, grief/loss, sexual abuse, depression, anxiety, domestic violence, Obsessive/Compulsive disorder, infidelity, anger management, divorce, boundary issues, and individual, family and couples therapy. She provides online/telephone counseling. Ms. Moore is CISM/CISD certified. She also provides training & workshops on a variety of psychological and relational topics for audiences such as parents, teachers, churches, healthcare workers.
She has gained inner-city experience providing therapeutic services for individuals, groups, and families at Esperanza Health Center and The Place of Refuge in Philadelphia. She has spoken on topics such as shame, trauma, domestic violence, singles’ relationships, and sexual abuse. In November 2005 she went to Coimbatore, India to provide grief and trauma therapy to Tsunami orphans (http://tsunamichildrenshome.blogspot.com). She was the plenary speaker at The Critical Incident Stress Management Conference in Trinidad, West Indies in June 2007.
LISA MUTCH, LPC
Ms. Mutch is a licensed professional counselor with a Master’s degree in Counseling from Missio Seminary. She brings ten years of experience in the field of mental health. Her areas of special interest include depression, anxiety, relational issues, marital conflict, grief/loss, abuse, and life transitions.
Because of her prior experience working in the corporate environment as an Ombudsman, Ms. Mutch also has interests in boundary issues, career transitions, and the psychological impacts of company-downsizing. As an Ombudsman, she advised and helped clients resolve work-related issues in a confidential and supportive environment.
JESSIE RUSSELL-NISBET, LSW
Ms. Russell-Nisbet. is a licensed social worker with a master’s degree in social work from Marywood University. Her special interests include domestic abuse, anxiety, depression, early life trauma, grief and loss, spiritual direction, life transitions and personal, marital and ministry conflict. Ms. Russell-Nisbet was in full time ministry for twelve years co-directing a residential home for
troubled youth and their families. She worked as a counselor/advocate in a safe house for women and children who were survivors of domestic violence. She has two married sons and a daughter in college.
LINDA SHARFF, LCSW
Ms. Sharff is a licensed clinical social worker with more than 30 years of experience. She also works with Lakeside Educational Network, doing adolescent counseling in the public school system. Her main areas of interest are adolescents, college students, anxiety and depression, health concerns/cancer supports, life transitions, grief and loss, relational issues, and issues related to singleness. Additionally she is available to offer supervision to those seeking LCSW hours. She has also worked with those in full-time Christian ministry i.e., counseling social workers and missionaries.
JONATHAN SOVOCOOL, LPC
Jon Sovocool is a licensed professional counselor with a master’s degree in counseling from Missio Seminary (formerly Biblical Theological Seminary). He has previously worked at outpatient counseling centers and community residential programs. Additionally, Mr. Sovocool assessed the readiness of Serge missionary candidates for cross-cultural missions. Currently, he is the Lead Counselor at ServingLeaders Ministries. Mr. Sovocool also serves as an adjunct professor at the Missio Graduate School of Counseling. His areas of interest include addictions, anxiety, depression, Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy (EFCT), bipolar disorder and anger management. He is married and has four young children.
SHEILA STALEY, M.Ed
Ms. Staley has over 25 years’ experience counseling individuals and families. She is a clinical member of The American Association of Marriage and Family Therapy and a certified biblical counselor. Ms. Staley is an adjunct professor at The Center for Urban Theological Studies/Geneva College.
Ms. Staley’s areas of specialization include marriage and relationship problems, premarital counseling, single parenting, and trauma and abuse. Specific issues and struggles unique to pastor’s/minister’s marriages and families are special areas of interest. She has been actively involved as a minister’s/pastor’s wife for 40 years. An author and lecturer, Ms. Staley conducts seminars and speaks nationally at women and family conferences. MS VICKI TORNETTA, MA, NCC, LPC
Ms Tornetta received a Master’s Degree in counseling from Biblical Theological Seminary and currently works with adolescences and adults through individual, pre-marital and marital counseling. Her current areas of interest include eating disorders, body image, sexual abuse and trauma, anxiety, depression, ADD, and couples counseling.
Vicki currently maintains a private practice and previously worked as a therapist for Seeds of Hope, a partial hospitalization program for those struggling with eating disorders. In 2015 she returned to school after raising four adult children and believes that her life experience provides insight and awareness into life’s struggles. She has served on several non-profit boards such as The Clery Center, YoungLives Regional Board, and 2200 Arch Counseling Services. Vicki volunteered as a Special Olympics ski coach, taught women’s Bible study and retreats. She has been married for 29 years.
Vicki is interested in the whole person, paying careful attention to the intersection of spiritual, physical, and emotional health to encourage overall well-being. She believes that the counseling relationship is critical to the healing process and strives to create a warm, genuine, understanding and safe environment, while using evidence-based treatments and Christian interventions. She is an active member of both the ACA-American Counseling Association and AACC-American Association of Christian Counselors.
DAN WHITE, LPC, CADC, CSAT
Dan White is a licensed professional counselor (LPC), who began his career at Liberty University with a degree in psychology and completed his Master’s degree from Cairn University. He joined Diane Langberg & Associates in 2013, bringing twenty years of licensed clinical experience. His specialized areas are marital relationships, redemptive separation, parenting relationships, domestic violence, trauma, depression, anxiety, substance abuse, sexual addiction, and clergy abuse.
He trained in the Gottman Method in Couples Therapy. Dan received his Certification of a Sex Addiction Therapist (CSAT) through the International Institute for Trauma and Addiction Professionals (IITAP). He is an active member of both the American Counseling Association (ACA) and the American Association of Christian Counselors (AACC). Dan has experience and is available to speak at conferences and retreats on issues of parenting, men’s roles, and legacy of relationships, as well as strengthening marital intimacy. Dan draws from his life experience of being married for nearly 30 years and has two adult children.

BETHANY TYSON, Office Manager
Bethany Tyson joined Diane Langberg, Ph.D. & Associates in 2010. With a B.S. in Rehabilitative Services, Mrs. Tyson’s professional background has included working with children and adults with varying disabilities. She currently volunteers for the Amputee Empowerment Partners as a certified peer-visitor to fellow amputees. Bethany has a passion to see churches establish child safety policies and helped develop her church’s policy manual. She is also an active member of the Safe Church Committee at her church. She enjoys spending time with her family, enjoying the arts and relaxing at the beach. She is married and has two sons and a dog.
